Women just like children are amongst the many marginalized groups in our societies especially in rural communities in Ghana.

Many studies affirms that , women when given the opportunity to grow , are well able to contribute to the growth of our societies.

 

 

It is for this reason that , despite the limited access to farm inputs , pest infestation and lack of credit facility , lack of access to readily available market , that, under the Rural Women Agriculture Support Project (RUWASP) , a partnership has been reached with an outstanding Agro-Chemical company called ONUADO AGRO-CHEMICAL COMPANY that deals in the supply of Fertilizers ,Pesticides and other farm Input to assist about two hundred (200) rural women at Kasei in Ejura -Ashanti Region of Ghana who are into pepper farming.

With this support scheme, each woman will be supplied with a bag of fertilizer,fungicide and Insecticide to prepare an acre of pepper . . Education and other extension services will be provided to them in order to increase their yield.

 

At the short meeting with the various women group, Mr . Osman who is the Lead Agric project officer at Rural Smile Foundation, emphasis the need to support women who are passionate to engage themselves meaningfully to reduce poverty.

Mr. Abubakar Saddique Ahmed, the Executive Director also indicates that , with detection of pest and its control, the organization has engaged the Okuafo Foundation to come to their aid and use their mobile technology to support these women groups detect pest early enough in order to find solutions to it quickly.

Mr . Ayuba Gyibrilla, the Chief Executive Officer of ONUADO AGRO-CHEMICAL COMPANY who doubles as the 2019 National Best Youth Farmer in Ghana 🇬🇭 indicates that , his out is ready to support such good initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty in rural communities.

Payment of this support scheme will be made after the produce is ready and sold.
