Edward Konlan Yennukon, holds Bachelor of Education (Psychology and Foundation of Education Science) from the University of Cape Coast .

Life offered him its best till the 11th day of November, 2000 when he fell sick and was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, (a staphylococcus infection of the bone) at the Baptist Medical Centre (BMC) in Nalerigu.

Unfortunately, the condition crucified his soul, attenuated his body and permanently deformed his left leg as if it was not curable. In effect, the deformity resulted into his physical disability at the age of fourteen years (14yrs)

As a Registered member of the Ghana Society Of the Physically Disabled (G.S.P.D) coupled with his education , Edward has come to realize that, He owed it a duty to provide information to Persons living With Different Abilities (PWDAs) which hitherto was known as Persons living With Disabilities (PWDs) on issues that adversely impact their human rights.

Not even the ugly history alone, but in our contemporary days, people have either ignorantly or knowingly stereotyped and subjected PWDAs to long held misguided prejudice, discrimination and various forms of abuse. This ugly status quo must not remain unchallenged because disability is everybody's lot anytime, anywhere!

As a devout believer of "Ability beyond Disability", he is very passionate in speaking and writing to promote, protect and defend the fundamental human rights of PWDAs.

At Rural Smile Foundation, Edward Konlan will be assisting in the designing of support systems to put Smile on the faces of persons living with disability within his jurisdiction and beyond because, we demand nothing short of equal treatment, equal access and equal opportunities for Persons living With Different Abilities.
