Ensuring healthcare financial risk protection for the vulnerable in our society in the mid of Convid -19 is a greater good .

In the midst of COVID-19, hospital 🏥 visits is going to increase and this comes with cost . Many of them cannot afford to pay out of pocket to access health care services.

It is the reason we are working to support such individuals in this critical time to be able to access healthcare at a minimum or no cost .

Thirty (30) vulnerable people were identified in this first phase of the Universal Access to Health Insurance for the Vulnerable Project(UAHIVP).
Fifteen (15) of them who have never registered for the health insurance got a new card and fifteen (15) got theirs renewed.

Speaking at the event, Madam Ayinawu said “ I’m 50years old now and I have never registered for Health insurance Card before because I could not afford to pay . I am grateful to Rural Smile Foundation for supporting me to have a new health insurance card now to access health care “

Miss Aisha Salifu ,The President of the persons with disability also said, “ we are grateful to Rural Smile Foundation for such a life changing project . I believe this will go a long way to help us access health care at no or minimum cost “

The Executive Director for Rural Smile Foundation, Mr. Abubakar Saddique Ahmed emphasize the need for health insurance cover for persons with disability since they are mostly vulnerable. He made it public that , the Foundation envisage to register/renew health insurance cards for 2,000 vulnerable (Persons with disability,Pregnant women ,Children and the aged ) in Ejura/Sekyedumase by the end of 2020.

He calls on other individual/organizations to support such initiative by Rural Smile Foundation.

It cost Six Cedis (6cedis) to renew those under 18years and 70years above and Eight Cedis(8cedis) to register those under 18years and 70years and above .

For those from 18years up to 69years , it cost twenty four Cedis (24cedis) to renew their health insurance whiles it cost twenty six Cedis ( 26cedis) to register someone 18years up to 69years .
