2020 QUR’AN Recitation Competition begins under the auspices of Ejura Zango Chief

The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be a revelation from God (Allah). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature.

It is organized in 114 chapters (surah (سور‎; singular: سورة‎, sūrah), which consist of verses (āyāt (آيات‎; singular: آية‎, āyah)).

It is in this regard that , under the ambled leadership of His Eminence , the Ejura Zango Chief,Alhaji Suraj Mohammed Alhassan with collaboration with a youth group group known as Concerned Youth Of Ejura organizes annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition in a bid to raise more children from the Zango community to get in love with recitation of the Noble Book 📖 to increase their knowledge and also memorize as well .

who has memorized the entire Quran is called a hafiz (‘memorizer’). An ayah (Quranic verse) is sometimes recited with a special kind of elocution reserved for this purpose, called tajwid.

In all , this is the 2nd Edition with about One Hundred and Twenty participants are drawn from the community for the preliminaries stage beginning today ,10th October,2020 at the Ejura Central Mosque 🕌Unser four(4) categories ( Surah Mujadila to Nas , Surah Mulk to Nas ,Surah Nabayi to Nas and Surah A’aala to Nas each for boys and girls )

Out of the 120 participants, Sixty Seven are Boys and Fifty Three(53) Girls .The participants will be judged on :  Quality of Memorization (25marks )Quality of rules of Tajweed (15marks ) and Quality of Voice (10marks) making it all 50marks
