Ejura/Sekyedumase Branch of Disability Movement to celebrate World Disability Day

Press release.

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

The Ejura/sekyedumase branch of the disability movement in Ghana, led by the Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations, which is made up of nine autonomous disability groups, wish to join the rest of the world to celebrate for the first time, the International Day of Persons With Disabilities on the 3rd day of December, 2020.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Not all Disabilities are Visible; Building back better, towards a disability inclusive, accessible and sustainable post covid-19 world”. It seeks to focus on creating awareness on the various types of disabilities that are not visible such as mental illness, hearing and speech impairments as well as other pertinent issues in relation to our well-being.

As one of Ghana’s rural district, we have never taken part of such a world event in our history. This in effect means that, we are lagging behind vital information on persons with disability. This maiden celebration of the event would enable us raise funds for the establishment of our office here in Ejura for effective administration.

To that end, the executive and the entire members of the federation have the pleasure to invite the general public to this memorable event.

We hope to count on your cooperation and support for a successful program.
